William Lewis Ward Sr.

  William Lewis Ward Sr., age 81, of Waverly, Ohio, died Monday February 4, 2019 at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born September 2, 1937 in Wellston, Ohio, a son of the late Charles and Florence Dress Ward. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice Staton Ward, two sons, Byron (Donna) Ward and William (Joni) Ward Jr. and six grandchildren, Aaron (Val) Ward, Alicia (Matt) Gecowets, Eric (Amy) Ward, Amy (Nate) Craumer, Aarika (Kyle) Osborne, and Samantha (Scott) Lightle. He dearly loved seeing and playing with his fifteen great-grandchildren, Lauren, Macey, Alexandra, Lexi, Jace, Jada, Mason, Marley, Aubrey, Mya, Owen, Jacob, Emmy, Asa, and Ruby. Bill enjoyed spending time in his garage, visiting with his good friends and old buddies who stopped by every morning, especially our "Harv", reading, watching the birds at his feeder and feeding the squirrels who had learned to come when he whistled for them. Private burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will not be observed. Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
