Ruthie Yates Obituary

  Ruthie Lee Yates, age 92, of Jackson, Ohio, died Monday September 28, 2020 at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. She was born November 1, 1927 in Ceredo, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Wayne and Emelois Ball Copley. She was united in marriage December 2, 1956 to her husband, Wilbur Wayne Yates, who preceded her in death December 31, 2013. Surviving are three sons, Harold (Irene) Yates of Jackson, Ohio, David (Rosemary) Yates of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Lowell (Diana) Yates of Jackson, Ohio, a grandson who she raised as a son, Christopher Yates of Jackson, Ohio, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one sister, Janice (Wilson) Detty of Jackson, Ohio. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Sylvester, Copley, Andrew Copley, and Robert Copley and one sister, Irlene. Ruth attended the Four Mile Christian Church, was a member of the Ladies of the Four Mile Christian Church, and was a member of the Oak Hill Senior Citizens Club. As part of the war effort during WWII, Ruth worked at the Adel Corporation in Huntington, West Virginia making aircraft parts. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Charles Domigan officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. Cox Burkitt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
