Ruth Maxine (Houck) Hattle, age 95, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Ocala, Florida and Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday January 27, 2016 at home at the Barrington of Oakley. She was born September 23, 1920, a daughter of the late Ira Gordon and Lena May Kerns Houck. Mrs. Hattle was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Monroe on March 18, 1949 and her second husband, George Hattle on December 8, 1989. Surviving are Rebecca (Tom) Ferris of Cincinnati, Ohio, two grandchildren, Cameron Ferris of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jason (Carla) Ferris of Lagrange, Kentucky, two great-grandchildren, Connor and Caleb Ferris, sister-in-law, Virginia Houck and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and first and second husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Pickens and six brothers, Eugene Houck, Pete Houck, Dale Houck, John Houck, George Houck and infant Donald Houck. Mrs. Hattle was a member of the Pioneer Flower Club in Ocala, Florida and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida. Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Monday February 1, 2016 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Jack Lewis Pursell officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
