Ruth Blair

Ruth Blair, age 86, of Sorg Rd., Hillsboro, Ohio, died Saturday January 5, 2013 at her residence. She was born July 16, 1926 in Johnson County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William "Elick" Alexander and Lucy Katherine Lytle Frazier. Mrs. Blair was united in marriage January 16, 1948 in Jackson, Ohio to her husband, Herman Blair, who preceded her in death January 19, 1991. Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Sue (David) Kiser of Tipp City, Ohio and Nola Mae Blair of Hillsboro, Ohio, one son, Timothy (Lori Fulkerson) Blair of Sardenia, Ohio, five grandchildren, Kyle (Kristen Strong) Smallwood, Nichlous Blair, Ashleigh Blair, Amber Blair and Ali Blair, three great-grandchildren, Kayla Smallwood, Kelsey Smallwood and Kallie Smallwood, one sister, Betty Balzer of Jackson, Ohio, three half-sisters, Debbie Ison of Beaver, Ohio, Sandra Miller of Wellston, Ohio and Vina Frazier of Portsmouth, Ohio, one half-brother, Steve Frazier of Jackson, Ohio, a step-daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Skinner Blair of Gaffney, South Carolina, and two very special friends, Hazel Renchen and Mary Dodds. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Eric Allison Blair, a step-son, Charles Martin Blair, a brother, Calvin Frazier, two sisters, Martha Keaton and Pauline Haselip, and a half-brother, Harmon Frazier. Mrs. Blair grew up in Kentucky and moved to Ohio with her family at the age of 10. After marrying her husband of 43 years, she lived on S.R. 776 in Pike County, Ohio before moving to Hillsboro in 1965. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday January 9, 2013 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8:00 P.M. Tuesday January 8, 2013 at the funeral home.
