Obituary

Rodger V. DeWitt, 81, of Pleasant Hill Rd., Waverly, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at his home. He was born May 4, 1941 in Buchanan to the late Charles and Helen Dyke DeWitt. He was united in marriage to Myra Etta Woods, his wife of 63 years, on August 1, 1959. He is survived by his wife; one son, David DeWitt of Waverly; three daughters, Shannon (Joe) Jennings of Waverly, Karlena (Jason) Reinhard of Circleville, and Lisa Cutler (Stephen Corwin) of Waverly; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica) Brown of Commercial Point, Cody DeWitt (Leslie Minney) of Waverly, Cameron Brown of Circleville, Felicia (Andrew) Henry of Waverly, Brystol Murphy, Kinzer Murphy, Liddy Cutler, Lyncoln Cutler, Lynnix Cutler, all of Waverly; two great-granddaughters, Blake Brown and Addison Henry, one brother, several nieces and nephews, and special friends Paula DeWitt and Katrina Heibel. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Erica DeWitt and a granddaughter, Kristin DeWitt, his parents and two brothers.

Rodger retired from Evergreen Union Cemetery in 2005 after 35 years of service. Rodger attended Pleasant Hill Community Church. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Private services will be held with burial following in the Evergreen Union Cemetery on Bridge St. in Waverly. Cox Burkitt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
