ROCKY JOE BROWN passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 1, 2018 at Adena Pike Medical Center. He was born in the little town of Beaver, Ohio on April 5, 1948 in his childhood home to Thomas L and Mozzella Laverne (Rapp) Brown, who preceded him in death.
On March 4, 1985 he married Rachel (Mathews) Brown, who survives. Together they had 2 children, Thomas (Carla) Brown of Beaver and Robin (David) Beekman of Piketon, along with 2 grandsons Brynden Tipton and Brock Brown, and several granddogs.
Although Rocky was an only child, he leaves behind a large extended family including several cousins and an uncle and aunt, Merritt (Wanda) Rapp of Waco, TX. One cousin who Rocky was very close to, Jerry Rapp and wife Judy Kay, filled in as grandparents to Rocky & Rachel's 2 children.
Rocky was a 4 year Air Force Veteran. He was Mayor of Beaver for 14 years, worked for Pike Natural Gas for 10 years, and was a retired mail carrier which he did for 32 years serving some of the people he loved.
Among his family, his love of dogs, the little town of Beaver, and his mail route, Rocky loved to ride his motorcycle, golf, and watch sports.
Rocky didn't know a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him.
