Robert Overley Obituary

Robert O. Overley, age 82, passed away March 11, 2013 at the Piketon Manor Nursing Center after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Delbert O. and Muriel Clouse Overly and his wife Wylodine Boyd Overley in 2003. Robert attended Beaver High School, graduating in 1948. He served in the United States Navy 1951-1954 serving on the USS Joyce. He was employed by the Goodyear Atomic Corp. as an Instrument Mechanic until his retirement. He is survived by his stepson, William Kent Magaw (Peggy), of Taylors, South Carolina and granddaughter Heather Magaw (husband Steve Abramowitz) and great-grandchildren, Evan and Paige of South Boston, Mass., brothers Daniel L. Overly (Marie) of Whitehall, Ohio, Donald Roger Overly (Ernestine) of Beaver, Ohio, Michael B. Overly (Karen) of Port St. Lucie, Florida and James Patrick (Sharon) Overly of Orlando, Florida and many caring nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert will also be remembered by a Special Friend and Caretaker, Rhonda Lawson of Beaver, Ohio Calling hours will be Thursday March 14, 2013 from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio. Masonic Services will be held by Lodge F&AM 321 of Waverly, Ohio at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services at Beaver Emmanuel UM Church Friday March 15, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. Officiating by Pastor Chris Clark with interment in Beaver Union Cemetery by Cox Burkitt Funeral Home.
