Rita J. Galford, age 61, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Rita was born on Dec.19, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio. She was the only child of Howard & Goldie (Smith) Galford. She was a Waverly H.S. grad in the Class of 1969. She was an assistant T.I. specialist at Chemical Abstracts Service for the past 41yrs. Rita had many passions in life- collecting Longaberger baskets, Jim Shore art & most recently scrapbooking. She enjoyed many shopping trips to Tenn. & Pa. with her special friends Jennie, Jean & Marcella. Rita is survived by several cousins but she had a special place in her heart for cousins Ali Whitt and Brandi & Kyle Pelfrey and they for her. She is also survived by "her boys" Malcolm & Tripp, 2 cats that lived the lives of royalty. Rita was an eye & tissue donor to the LIFELINE OF OHIO. In keeping with Rita's wishes, there will be no funeral. A graveside service will be held Sat., Jan. 19th @ 1p.m. at the Owl Creek Cemetery, Lucasville, Ohio with Pastor Rodney Bapst officiating, where Rita will be laid to rest next to her parents as she requested. A memorial service will be held at a later date for her local friends & co-workers in the Columbus area. We would like to extend our special thanks to the ER & 6T staff of Riverside Hospital for their medical care that was carried out with great kindness & sensitivity.
