Raymond Finley Harris

Raymond Finley Harris, age 78, of S.R. 335, Beaver, Ohio, died Sunday December 9, 2012 in Waverly, Ohio. He was born June 5, 1934 in Pike County, Ohio, a son of the late Pleasant and Francis Harris. Mr. Harris was united in marriage November 29, 1958 to his wife, Shirley Reisinger Harris, who preceded him in death October 4, 2002. Surviving are three sons, Marty Harris of Beaver, Ohio, William Harris of Lucasville, Ohio and Dewayne Harris of Beaver, Ohio, three daughters, Liticea Harris of Waverly, Ohio, Betty Harris of Waverly, Ohio and Charlotte Harris of Chillicothe, Ohio, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother, Homer Harris of Beaver, Ohio, and a very special friend, Lou Bentley of Kentucky. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Harris, two brothers, Junior and Worley Harris, and one sister, Lyida Oiler. Mr. Harris was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Liberty Valley AME Church. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday December 13, 2012 at the Liberty Valley AME Church located on Carrs Run Rd., with Pastor Barbara Baccus officiating. Burial will follow in the Carrs Run Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Merritt Post #142 of Waverly. Friends may call from 5-7:00 P.M. Wednesday December 12, 2012 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio.
