Ray E. Bevins, Sr.
Ray was born on July 15, 1954 and died May, 25, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Beaver, served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1975, and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal during his service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Bevins, and two sisters, Nancy and “Duke.”
Ray is survived by three sons, Jacy, Ray Jr. and Scott Lyall, three daughters, Missy, Victoria, and Shianna, four brothers, Jim, “Doc”, Rick, and Leemon, two sisters, Linda and Bev, special niece and nephew, Jammie and Billy, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was a truck driver by trade but was disabled for several years. His favorite pastimes were being grumpy, aggravating people, and scratching lottery tickets. He was well-known for his ability to infuriate even the calmest of people. So if you have been angry at him, please know you made him happy whether you knew or not. He lived for it! He also lived for his son, Jacy. He was his greatest treasure and one true love in this life.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday June 12, 2021 with military honors conducted by the American Legion Merritt Post #142 of Waverly. Calling hours will not be observed. Cox Burkitt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
