Paul Wayne Harris

Paul Wayne Harris, age 71, of Piketon, Ohio, died Saturday September 28, 2013 at the Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio. He was born July 6, 1942 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Calvin and Dorothy Creech Harris. Mr. Harris was united in marriage June 7, 1974 to his wife, Thelma Jo Vest Harris, who survives. Also surviving are six children, Brian (Mandy) Harris of Piketon, Ohio, Joshua (Stacy) Harris of Lucasville, Ohio, Dustin (Jessica) Harris of Piketon, Ohio, Ethan (fiance` Katie Frantz) Harris of McDermott, Ohio, Paula Jo Harris of Piketon, Ohio and Wesley Harris of Piketon, Ohio, six grandchildren, Calvin Riley Harris, Quincy Harris, Silas Harris, Oren Harris, Brenlee Harris, and Austin Frantz, and numerous very special relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Clint Rayden Harris. Mr. Harris was a member of the Waverly Nazarene Church, was a U.S. Army Veteran, was a 1960 graduate of Hamilton High School in Columbus, Ohio, completed Diesel Mechanic School in Tennessee and was self-employed. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday October 2, 2013 at the Waverly Nazarene Church in Waverly, Ohio with Pastor Lawrence Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Family Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Merritt Post #142 of Waverly. Friends may call from 4-8:00 P.M. Tuesday October 1, 2013 at the church and Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio.
