Otto Edward Benner age 58, of Pike County, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly in a farming accident on August 23, 2025.
Born on December 14, 1966, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was the son of Otto and Janet (Vaughters) Benner. He was a graduate of Eastern Local Schools and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Business from Shawnee State University.
Otto devoted his life to farming, a calling that was not just his work but his true passion. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work and perseverance- lessons that would shape a lifetime devoted to farming.
Otto was known for his hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He believed in the value of an honest day’s work and found joy in planting each spring with hope and harvesting each fall with gratitude. He enjoyed starting each day playing ball with his best friend and dog, Oliver.
He was a steadfast friend, a caring neighbor, and someone who could always be counted on when a hand was needed. His generosity extended beyond his farm — helping a neighbor in need, or offering a word of encouragement, he made a difference in many lives.
He is survived by his mother Janet, sister-in-law Paula and niece Lillian. He was preceded in death by his father Otto and brother Randal.
He will be remembered for his steady devotion to the land and for the gentle kindness he shared with those around him. His quiet presence, warm smile, and thoughtful ways will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”
