Otis "Papaw" Maynard died unexpectedly in Pleasant Hill Manor on July 27, 2016 in Piketon, Ohio at the age of 82. Otis is survived by his wife Lenora (Jervis) Maynard of Jackson, Ohio; and their seven children, Charles (Muriel) Maynard and Greg Maynard of Beaver, Ohio, Charlotte (Roy) Blackburn, Dianna (Chuck) Durham, Deby (Sam) Immel, Norman (Tami) Maynard, and James (Tonia) Maynard of Jackson, Ohio. Otis and Lenora also have 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Otis also had siblings Myrtle Tackett, JoAnn (Tommy) Wallace, and Ronnie Maynard, all of Beaver, Ohio, Bonnie (Ty) Crammer and Phyllis (Ron) Clark of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and Robert (Ann) Maynard of Summerville, W.V., along with many nieces and nephews, all of which he loved dearly. Otis was preceded in death by his two daughters, Christina and Justine Maynard, 2 granddaughters, Tiffany and Jessica Maynard, parents Clyde and Irene Maynard, and brothers Julis, Autis, and Clyde Maynard Jr. of Beaver, Ohio. Otis was born December 3, 1933 in Wayne, W.V. to Clyde and Irene Maynard. Otis married Lenora Jervis on December 6, 1951. After moving to Ohio in 1968, he began farming, working at the Telegram and served the Lord. Otis was an accomplished Farmer who loved his cattle. He was a dedicated Christian who loved talking about the Lord to friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers who he would consider friends. He was an active and dedicated member of Paul's Chapel Church of Jackson, Ohio. A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Sunday July 31, 2016 at the Paul's Chapel Church, with a reception to follow at the church. Bros. Roger Maynard, Ivory Williamson and Rex Maynard will officiate the ceremony. Burial will follow in the Paul's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6:00 P.M. Saturday July 30, 2016 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio. At the conclusion of the visitation at the funeral home, the family will move from the funeral home to the Paul's Chapel Church for visitation beginning at 7:00 P.M. Saturday. Visiting hours at the church will continuing throughout the evening until the time of service Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home, c/o Otis Maynard, 5856 Beaver Pike, Beaver, Ohio 45613.
