Mitchell Blanton Jr., "Mitch Jr.", passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at the age of 51. Mitch Jr. was the first son of Mitchell Sr. and Naomi Blanton and was born on October 2nd, 1967 at Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth, Ohio. Mitch Jr. grew up on Hunting Run Road in Lucasville, and was a 1986 graduate of Eastern High School. An artistic man, Mitch Jr. enjoyed spending his free time writing and drawing, though he cherished moments spent with his beloved companion, family, and friends above all else. Mitch Jr. loved watching NASCAR races and listening to music with his brothers, and was well known for his Donald Duck impressions which provided endless amounts of laughter and joy to his grandchildren, nieces and nephews over the years. Mitch Jr. will be forever remembered and endlessly missed by his loving mother Naomi Blanton, brothers William "Bill" Blanton and Shannon Blanton, nephews Billy, Craig, Bryce and Leland Blanton, and nieces Caila Catanzaro and Madison Southworth. Mitch Jr. is also survived by his loyal and loving partner of 24 years, Cheryl L. Williams, and her three children Katelynn Cox, Amanda Williams, Danielle Hail, in addition to six grandchildren, Kaylee Hail, Emily Hail, Jamie Hail, Miranda Spradlin, Leon Pennington, and Brookelynn Cox, who held his heart. Mitch Jr. was welcomed into heaven by the loving embraces of his father, Mitchell Blanton Sr., and his only sister, Michelle Nicole Blanton. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday April 16, 2019 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Pastor Buddy Mefford officiating. Burial will follow in the Salisbury Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
