Minnie Opal Lowe Ramey, 84, of Beaver was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on March 1, 2022 at Ohio State University surrounded by her loving family. Minnie was born at the family home in Beaver, Ohio, on November 12, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Minnie Lowe, brother, Jesse Lowe, sister, Mary Esther Lowe Hickman, by her first husband, James Johnson and her second husband, Lesta Ramey. Minnie leaves to cherish her memory daughters Melanie (Cliff) White and Elaine (Michael) Rinehart, grand-daughters Mindy and Kendra Rinehart and Makaela (Clint) Bapst. Great grandchildren Braxton, Kohen and Nora Dreitzler. She is survived by nieces and nephew: David, Cathy (John), Cindy (Bob) and Lynn (Gary). She also leaves behind a very dear friend and a very special doctor, Dr. Moni Stein.
Minnie graduated from Beaver High School in 1955. She attended Paramount Beauty Academy where she became a licensed beautician and owned and operated Johnson Beauty Salon at her place of residence. She was also a dedicated employee at Pike Water after retirement at her beauty salon. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home. Minnie served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Beaver High School Alumni for many years. Minnie was known for her cooking and baking. Her homemade bread, cookies and candy were out of this world. She sure could fix a delicious meal that would have you going back for seconds and third helpings. Her favorite past time was mowing her grass on her John Deere lawnmower. She would cut her grass two to three times a week and maybe twice in one day. She loved cutting grass so much she thought about getting a job for the state cutting grass. Another hobby of hers was keeping a journal of her granddaughter Makaela who she often called “doodle bug.” Makaela was holding her hand as she took her final breath. Their bond was very special to her. Minnie attended Beaver Emmanuel Church where she sang in the choir.
