Mary Lou Workman, age 75, of Chillicothe, Ohio, formerly of Beaver, Ohio, died Wednesday June 19, 2013 at Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born September 11, 1937 in Wellston, Ohio, a daughter of the late Trans and Berniece Lyons Gilliland. Mrs. Workman was united in marriage May 14, 1967 to her husband, Marvin Workman, who survives. Also surviving are her step-mother, Gladys Gilliland of Beaver, Ohio, one brother, Walter Lee (Sharon) Gilliland of Beaver, Ohio, three brothers-in-law, Charles (Carol) Workman of Waverly, Ohio, Clarence (Carol) Workman of Columbus, Ohio and Ray (Carol) Workman of Chillicothe, Ohio, three sisters-in-law, Joyce (Charles) Keibler of Waverly, Ohio, Bonnie (Marvin) Bapst of Waverly, Ohio and Freda (John) Arbaugh of Springfield, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert H. Gilliland of Beaver, Ohio, one sister, Barbara Jean Gilliland Tyler Roach of Jacksonville, Florida, her father-in-law, Rev. Andrew Workman and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Brown Workman. Mrs. Workman was a member of the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church and was employed at the WearEver Aluminum Company for 22 years. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 22, 2013 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Rev. Wendell Combs and Rev. Ronnie Hines officiating. Burial will follow in the Waverly Evergreen Union Cemetery located on Denver Rd. Friends may call from 5-8:00 P.M. Friday June 21, 2013 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. The family would also like to thank the staff at Adena Hospice for the kindness and assistance they provided.
