Martha E Harmon

Martha Ellen Harmon, age 89, of Waverly, Ohio, died Thursday December 10, 2020 at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born August 6, 1931 in Pataskala, Ohio, a daughter of the late Samuel Vinson Fetty and Blanche May Chapman Fetty. She was united in marriage October 13, 1950 to her husband, Mason Stanley Harmon Sr. who preceded her in death January 17, 1988. Surviving are four children, Steve Dean (Treva) Harmon of Beaver, Ohio, Diana Marie (Jeff) Sagraves of Waverly, Ohio, Dana Lee (Angie) Harmon of Waverly, Ohio, and David Wayne (Melissa) Harmon of Piketon, Ohio, seven grandchildren, Brian Harmon of Little Rock, Arkansas, Keri (Charlie) Dodds of Waverly, Ohio, Cassie Sagraves of Portsmouth, Ohio, Ashton Harmon of Waverly, Ohio, Justin (Kayla) Harmon of Port Huron, Michigan, David Wayne (Brittany) Harmon II of Latham, Ohio, and Joshua Harmon of Piketon, Ohio, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Betty Amburgey of Waverly, Ohio, one daughter-in-law, Susan Harmon of Chillicothe, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Mason Stanley Harmon Jr., one granddaughter, Laura Harmon, and six brothers and sisters, Samuel Fetty, Howard Fetty, John Fetty, Mary Raver, Frank Fetty, and Kenny Fetty.

Martha attended the Church of Christ in Piketon, Ohio and Waverly, Ohio and was employed by Mills Pride for over two decades until the company’s closing when she was in her late 70’s. Quick-witted, hard-working, and being not troubled to serve alone, she spent her time helping the neighbors she met along the road.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday December 14, 2020 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Pastor Frank Klobucar officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Following CDC recommendations and state mandated orders, the family requests those attending to please wear a mask.
