Mark Bapst Obituary

Mark Allen Bapst, 58, of Beaver, Ohio, peacefully and calmly passed from this world on January 3, 2021, at the Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. Mark had fought a long, hard fight with a variety of health problems. As Mark would like it, he was surrounded by his family.

Mark, born February 4, 1962, was the youngest son of Janet and the late Jacob Bapst of Beaver. In addition to his father, Mark was preceded in death by his sister Naomi Bapst and a niece, Jessica Leslie Bapst. In addition to his mother, Mark is survived by his brother Jacob (Joann) Bapst of Gallipolis, Ohio, and his niece Suzanna Bapst-Dunn (Nick), his brother Marvin (Bonnie) Bapst of Waverly, Ohio, and niece Amanda (Zack) Sanchez and grand- niece Lucia, his brother Rodney (Joann) Bapst of Lucasville, Ohio, and nephew Adam (Jerilynn) and grand-nieces Janette and Joyanna, niece Kayli Bapst, niece Jodi Bapst, and nephew Aaron Bapst, and sister Sharon (Ray) Perkins of Waverly, Ohio, and niece Brittany Perkins and niece Kristin Perkins. Mark is also survived by many other family members and long- time family friend Paula Detillion.

Mark was a graduate of Eastern High School and was a member of the Owl Creek Lighthouse Church. Mark’s working career was at Lykins Eggs and Mills Pride, but Mark was most proud of his role as caregiver for his father. Mark was an avid sports fan, mainly the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, as well as Ohio State. Mark never knew a stranger, never forgot a name, and never harmed anyone. He was a genuine one-of-a-kind individual.

Visitation will be from 3-5:30 P.M. Wednesday January 6, 2021 followed by a service at 5:30 P.M. at The Owl Creek Lighthouse Church, located on 1442 Germany Road, Lucasville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to cover the funeral expenses at Cox-Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio. Mark would also like to have as many people as possible register to become an organ donor.
