Marion T. "sparky" Sparks

Marion T. "Sparky" Sparks, age 89, passed away on Friday March 22, 2013 at 5:50 P.M. at home with his family by his side. He was born December 17, 1923 in Boyd County, Kentucky to Herbert and Sarah Sparks. Mr. Sparks was united in marriage August 25, 1942 to his wife, Virginia Sparks, who preceded him in death July 18, 2001. Surviving are children: Gary (Bonnie) Sparks of Waverly, Daniel (Linda) Sparks of Jackson, and Karen (Mike) Osborne of Beaver. Grandchildren: Michael Sparks, Gary Sparks Jr., Bobby McDowell, Becky Mammana, Vicki Harper, Brandon Brigner, Justin Sparks, and Tim Sparks. Great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Sparks, Christian Mammana, Daune Harper Jr., Evan Mammana, Austin Sparks, Asia Russell and Zane Brigner. Also surviving are one brother, Donald Sparks of Jackson, Tenn. Step-grandchildren: Terry Pennington, Greg Pennington, Kevin Pennington, and Michelle Bethel, and several step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Sparks worked as a machinist and retired from the Goodyear Atomic Plant in June of 1985. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday March 26, 2013 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver with Rev. Ronald Hines officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday March 25, 2013 at the funeral home.
