1933-2022

Myrtle Marie Overly, age 88, of Whitehall, Ohio, passed away Saturday July 16, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Daniel Lee Overly and is survived by her three children, Tim, Cathy and Amy, as well as her grandchildren Jonathan and Grace. Also surviving one sister, Nancy Schrader of Beaver, Ohio and a host of very special extended family members. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Sloan and Dorothy Bapst.

Marie graduated Beaver High School in 1951 and went on to enjoy a long career at the Ohio Bell Telephone Company in Columbus, Ohio where she rose through the ranks and eventually retired after 43 years at age 62. She loved gardening, decorating, reading, traveling and playing Euchre. She was a long-time choir member and very active in the Eastview United Methodist Church. 

We will miss you terribly Mom- You were fun loving, hardworking, and determined to make a better life for your kids. You loved to travel and were always ready for a new adventure or a visit to your grandchildren. You listened patiently to our plans and dreams and encouraged us to reach for the stars. You will always be an inspiration to us, and you will live forever in our hearts. 

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 23, 2022 at the Beaver Union Cemetery with Rev. Craig Arnold officiating. Prior, the family will receive friends at noon with a service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Cox Burkitt Funeral Home.
