Lenora Fay (West) Chandler was born on August 10th 1932 and passed away on Saturday, October 1st 2022 at the age of Ninety. Lenora was one of 12 children born to Joseph and Hazel West who lived near Inez, Kentucky. Lenora was preceded in death by: Her parents - Joe and Hazel West; Brothers - Lester West, Joseph West Jr., James Luther West, Clarence S. “Beans” West, Robert West and William David West; Sisters – Josephine West, Luzetta Grace Lusher, Mae Parton, and Sharon Porter Gilliland; Husband – Jack Chandler. Lenora is survived by: Sister Rosalee Dawson (Thornville, OH); Sons – James Allen Chandler and Wife Dolly (Beaver, OH), Jack Edward Chandler and Wife Lana (Ripley, OH) Lester Wayne Chandler and Wife Judy (Beaver, OH), and Michael Ray Chandler and Wife Dianna (New Braunfels, TX). Lenora was blessed with Eight Grandchildren: James Chandler II and Wife Bonnie (Akron, OH), Melissa Vlasak and Husband Nick (Olmstead Falls, OH), Julie Chaney (Dayton, OH), Jake Chandler and Wife April (Gulfport, MS), Betty Boldman and Husband Ronnie (West Union, OH), Joshua Luke Chandler and Wife Kerrigan (Wheelersburg, OH), Joseph Chandler and Wife Keara (San Antonio, TX) and Jennifer Chandler and Husband Arpit Mittal (San Jose, CA). Thirteen Great Grandchildren – Alex Chandler, Olivia Chandler (Gulfport, MS), Anden Chandler, Cole Chandler, Audrey Chandler, Caiden Chandler (San Antonio, TX), Jada Lewis (Dayton, OH), Aliester Lewis (Dayton, OH), Hayley Skinner (Cleveland, OH), Kiersten Skinner (Midlothian, VA), Taylor Chandler, and Avery Chandler (of Greensburg, OH), Maya Elaine Mittal (San Jose). and One Great, Great Grandchild – Alayna Grace Darlene Skinner, (Cleveland, OH).
Lenora lived most of her life in Pike County, OH. She lived in Beaver, OH until recently. She resided at The Pavillion, In Piketon, OH. She was on Dialysis for the last year of her life and struggled with the various aspects of the treatments. Throughout everything, she was always trying to set an example to her Children, Grandchildren, Great Grand Children and Great, Great, Grandchildren to strive to lead a Christian life and strive to please God. Heavens' Gain is our Loss. Lenora has always been a child of God, attending church regularly at the Gospel Assembly Church in Akron, OH for many years. Later, when living in Pike County she became a long-distance member of Jimmy Swaggart's Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, LA. She attended regularly through SBN (Sonlife Broadcasting Network).
Lenora went to college after raising four Boys and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Akron General Hospital, and for Dr. Bartlett's office in Barberton, OH and later for Dr. Schlee in Waverly, OH before retiring. Services are at Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, OH. Viewing hours are Noon-2PM Wednesday with funeral services beginning at 2:00 P.M. Graveside services will follow immediately at Beaver Union Cemetery.
