Joyce Sharon West Gilliland

  Joyce Sharon West Gilliland, age 75, of Beaver, Ohio, died Thursday April 28, 2016 at her residence. She was born April 20, 1941 at Zahn's Corner, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph and Hazel Ray West. Mrs. Gilliland was united in marriage February 2, 2002 to her husband, Walter Gilliland, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Jeffrey Porter of Cumberland, Kentucky, Jerry Porter of Johnstown, Ohio, Kelly Michele Bradley of Irmo, South Carolina and Crystal Nicole (Brent) Baker of Lexington, South Carolina, two step-daughters, Shanna (Tony) Picklesimer of Williamsport, Ohio and Tanna (Drew) Blackman of St. Petersburg, Florida, ten grandchildren, Josh, Jennifer and Cheyenne Porter, Michael and Mark Bradley, Gabriel Baker, Jordan Gilliland, Grace and Isabella Picklesimer and Leana Blackman, three sisters, Mae Parton of Lake Placid, Florida, Lenora (Ed) West Hamilton of Beaver, Ohio and Rosalee (James) Dawson of Pleasantville, Ohio, one brother, William David West of Pataskala, Ohio and many very special nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Ault and Pauline West (infant), five brothers, Lester West, Luther West Joseph West Jr., Clarence "Beans" West and Robert West and her first husband, Larry E. Porter. Sharon graduated from Beaver High School in 1959, retired from a plastic manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio, attended the Beaver Emmanuel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Beaver Valley Historical Society. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday May 1, 2016 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Rev. Ronnie Hines officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8:00 P.M. Saturday April 30, 2016 at the funeral home.
