John Harlen Brown, 78 of Stockdale, Ohio, departed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday December 9, 2015 at SOMC. Born March 13, 1937 in Stockdale, a son of the late Roy McKenzie Brown and Louella Coburn Brown Jones, he was a retired dairy farmer. He served eight years on Eastern School Board, eight years on the Scioto County Milk Co-op Board, and eight years as a Director for the Farm Credit Association. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Ann Cremeans Brown; four children, Roy (Pam) Brown, Paul (Annette) Brown, Shawn (Betsy) Brown and Dawn (Brad) Fremont, eight grandchildren, Wesley Brown, Sydney Heising, Chandler Brown, Lacy Brown, Tishina Brown Harris, Kristen Swords, Cole and Cassidy Fremont, four great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert Brown of Ashland, Ohio and two sisters, Linda Reed of Stockdale and Paula Jones Fox of Lancaster, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Paul and Roy Vancil Brown. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday December 12, 2015 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Pastor Major Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Stockdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8:00 P.M. Friday December 11, 2015 and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
