Jeffery E. Harper of Piketon, Ohio, age 56, passed away at Adena Regional Medical Center on September 15, 2021. He was born July 14, 1965 in Lawrence County, Ohio to Carol Keaton Harper of Ironton, Ohio and the late Orlan Harper. Jeff married his best friend Wendy (Salisbury) Harper in May 1987 after a 3 year courtship. They were blessed with two children, TJ (Tierany) Harper of Jackson, Ohio and Taylor (Joshua) Ayers of Russellville, Ohio. Jeff was also over the moon about his two grandchildren Rylee and Axel Harper. “Mr. Harper” started teaching at the Pike County Joint Vocational School in 1987 as a HVAC Instructor for 10 years before becoming the Option IV Coordinator. He was passionate about the JVS and helped many students achieve success in the workforce. “Harp” loved dirt track racing and being crew chief for many teams but mostly his son 19H Racing. He enjoyed camping, golfing, farming, hunting, local sports, playing cards, and cooking for the masses. He was a friend to many and was famous for giving advice (whether you wanted it or not). He loved working with 4-H, and raising cattle with his family on Windy Ridge Farm. Along with his immediate family he is survived by his loving Mother-in-Law, Frances Salisbury and Brother, Brad Harper, plus numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of life will be held Monday, September 20th at the Pike County Fairgrounds Multi-Purpose Building. Visitation will be between 3-7 p.m., with a special service at 7 p.m. officiated by dear friend and Pastor, Keith Richardson. As all of Harp’s friends would know, come as you are. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that money be donated to The Jeff Harper Memorial Fund at the Pike County CTC at 175 Beaver Creek Road Piketon, Ohio 45661. This money will continue to carry on his legacy supporting new members of the workforce with equipment they need to succeed.
