James R. Lykins, age 65, of Beaver, Ohio, died Sunday April 11, 2021 at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born February 15, 1956 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Walter Reeves Lykins and Tressie Louise LeMaster Lykins. He was united in marriage September 12, 2015 to his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Stephenson Lykins, who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Lykins, one daughter, and one nephew.
Jim was a kind and sweet man who never knew a stranger and would gladly give the shirt off his back and not ask for anything in return. He had a passion for work, whether it was helping to grow and operate the family business of Lykins Farm and Beaver Valley Eggs or working in the fields with his cattle. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors and could be found riding horses, hunting wildlife, mushroom hunting or passing time with his very special puppy whom he loved dearly.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday April 15, 2021 in the Beaver Union Cemetery with Bud Medford officiating. Burial will follow at the conclusion of services. Friends may call from 5-8:00 P.M. Wednesday April 14, 2021 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio.
