James Carroll Creech

James Carroll (Jim) Creech, 79 of Stockdale, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Jim was born June 15, 1945 to the late Carroll and Roberta Creech.

Jim was a retired truck driver and owner of Creech Welding. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Jim gave his life to the Lord 13 years ago and was baptized July 8, 2012. He attended Stockdale United Christian Church in Stockdale, OH and Church of God of Prophecy in Tavares, Florida.

Jim was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his second home in Tavares, Florida. While at home in Ohio, he loved spending time on the farm.

Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie (O’quinn), daughters Kelly (Bryan) McCaleb of Minford, Kristina Wheeler of Lucasville, and son, Randy Creech of Tavares, Florida; grandchildren, Denver Wheeler III of Wheelersburg, Abbey (Michael) Martin of Minford, Jacob (Emily) McCaleb of Portsmouth, and Mollie Creech of Rosemount; great-grandchildren; Amelia Jane Wheeler, Cooper Lane Martin and Madeline Tyler Mullins. Jim is also survived by a brother, Jerry Creech of Commercial Point, OH. Also surviving is former daughter-in-law, Laura Creech and former son-in-law Denver Wheeler, Jr.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Creech.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 4, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Stockdale United Christian Church (499 St. Rt 335) with Pastor Aaron Swango officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street; Portsmouth, OH 45662 or to St. Jude via their website at stjude.org. The service is under the direction of Cox-Burkitt Funeral Home, Beaver, OH.
