Ivan Tolliver Obituary

Ivan Lee Tolliver, age 42, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly at home on Thursday March 3, 2016 in Jackson, Ohio Ivan was born on February 23, 1974 in Amherst, Ohio to parents James E. Tolliver and Ima Sue Tolliver who both survive. He is also survived by his finace', Kristina Althouse of Jackson, his son Trent Tolliver of Jackson and his two step-sons, Christian Althouse and Timmy Carl, both of Jackson. Also surviving are his siblings, Patricia Tolliver of Wellston, James "Lenny" Tolliver of Jackson, Jeff (Amy) Tolliver of Guysville, Jerome Tolliver of Zanesville, and his 6 nieces and nephews in which he shared a special bond with each one of them. Also numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his beloved brother and hunting buddy, Kenneth Tolliver, also of Jackson. He graduated in 1993 from Jackson High School and Buckeye Hills Career Center with a degree in welding. He then pursued his career as a welder for more than 20 years. Ivan was a great family man. He was an amazing spouse and a wonderful loving father to his three boys which he absolutely adored. He also valued the time he spent with all of his family members, as he wanted everyone to know how much he loved them all. Ivan was a social, active man who was deeply involved in the outdoors. He had a strong passion for deer hunting and enjoyed many other types of hunting and fishing as well. Ivan also had a passion for football that he enjoyed sharing with his boys. His family and friends will always remember him as an outgoing, strong, caring, understanding person. And as Ivan would say to his family, "Let's not forget that I'm the Baby!" Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday March 12, 2016 at the Givens Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Charley Ross and Bro. Rob Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Tolliver Family Cemetery. Friends may call beginning at 4:00 P.M. and continuing throughout the evening Friday March 11, 2016 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to Kristina Althouse, c/o Ivan Tolliver, 3645 Whaleytown Rd., Jackson, Ohio 45640.
