Ishmel Ray Ward

Ishmel Ray Ward, age 96, of Waverly, Ohio, died Tuesday November 26, 2024 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born October 12, 1928 in Blain, Kentucky, a son of the late Lunda Ward and Esta Cordle Ward. He was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Ward, his second wife, Rosetta Ward, and his third wife, Jean Ward. Surviving are his step daughters, Janet (Dave) Young of Waverly, Ohio and Gloria (Richard) Smith of Beaver, Ohio, one brother, Russ Ward of Salyersville, Kentucky, a host of nieces and nephews, including Sandy (Greg) Slusher of Indiana, Sherry Grimes of Indiana, Cheryl Arn of Waverly, Ohio, Brenda Dyke of Chillicothe, Ohio, Janie (Reynold) Williams of Chillicothe, Ohio, Steve Simons of Indiana, and one sister-in-law, Joyce Roberts of Waverly, Ohio. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a son, Dwayne Ward, a brother, Ed Ward, and two sisters, Nancy Ward and Darlene Simons.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday November 30, 2024 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Pastor Jerry Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
