Ida Satterfield Obituary

Ida D. (Richardson) Satterfield, age 65, of Waverly, Ohio, passed from this life on June 6, 2013 and into the arms of her Lord and Savior, following a brief illness. She was born on August 27, 1947, to Donald and Elizabeth Richardson. She is survived and loved by her daughters, Stephanie (Mark) Remy and Diana Gayle (Freddie) Johnson, two wonderful grandchildren, Tiffany and Cassady Remy, and one special great-granddaughter, Ariel Remy all of Waverly. Also surviving is her mother, Elizabeth Richardson, a brother, Floyd Richardson, several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. In addition she was a special caregiver to Stephanie, Chelsey and Connor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Satterfield, her father Donald Richardson, and a sister, Janet Cox. She is a 1965 graduate of Piketon High School and served on the Piketon High School Alumni Committee. She was also a member of the Hamman Church at Zahn's Corner, Waverly, and the Rebekah Lodge. Ida was a loving and caring person who opened her home throughout her life to several foster children and as a daycare provider. Her laughter and generosity are just a few of the many qualities that will be remembered and missed. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, OH on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ronnie Hines, officiating. Graveside services will the follow at the Hamman Church Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 2:00-6:00 pm at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute donations in Ida's name to the Piketon High School Alumni Scholarship Fund in c/o of The First National Bank.
