He was born January 29, 1957 in Wayne County, West Virginia, a son of the late Otis and Lenora Maynard. He is survived by his son, Nathan (Michelle) Maynard of Piketon, Ohio, step-daughter, Ashley (Jeremy) Fritz of Piketon, Ohio, five grandchildren, Logan, Kaylee, and Kenley Maynard and Jorden and Justen Fritz, six brothers and sisters, Dianna Durham of Jackson, Ohio, Charlotte (Ray) Blackburn of Jackson, Ohio, Charles (Muriel) Maynard of Beaver, Ohio, Norman Maynard of Piketon, Ohio, James (Tonia) Maynard of Piketon, Ohio, and Deby Immel of Piketon, Ohio, and his beloved dog Bentley. Gregg was a 1975 graduate of Eastern High School. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and retired from the Mid-America Conversion Services located at the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant with 35 years of service where he worked as a Uranium Material Handler and Process Operator. Gregg was servant of the Lord and of the people. He would give you the shirt off his back without a question. He was always the first to lend a helping hand and always the last to dinner. He never met a stranger and those who met him for the first time felt like they had known him for many years. His love for family, cattle farming, and old Jeeps will be missed by many.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial following in the Paul’s Chapel Cemetery.
