Franklin Edward Montgomery

Franklin Edward Montgomery, age 74, of Beaver, Ohio, went to rest with the Lord Monday January 27, 2014 at the Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio. He was born June 26, 1939 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, a son of the late Virgil and Onie Rigsby Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery was united in marriage August 14, 1965 to his wife, Susan Jane Jones Montgomery, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Glenn Eddie (Pamela) Montgomery of Wheelersburg, Ohio, one daughter, Anita Ann (Shawn) McComas of Piketon, Ohio, two grandchildren, Kayla Ruthford and Colton Scott Montgomery, one great-grandchild, Haidon Michelle Horne, one brother, Doug (Pat) Montgomery of Beaver, Ohio, one sister, Minnie Francis (Charlie) Jones of Beaver, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews, his very special church family at the Old Rugged Cross Church, and very special friends, Burt Rigsby, R.V. Whitt, Dee Cantrell, and Woody Cantrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Hershal Montgomery, Earsel Montgomery, Donald Lee Montgomery, Charles Montgomery and Emery Montgomery and one sister, Wanda Rider. Mr. Montgomery was a member of the Old Rugged Cross Church. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday January 30, 2014 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Dee Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Germany Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8:00 P.M. Wednesday January 29, 2014 at the funeral home.
