Ethel Maynard

Ethel Maynard, age 91, of Thurman, Ohio, died Sunday November 28, 2021 at the Holzer Assisted Living Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born November 16, 1930 in Greenup County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Bill Oney and Beatrice Stevens Oney. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Bill) Maynard McCoy of Thurman, Ohio, one grandson, Joseph (Courtney) Toppings of New Kent, Virginia, one great-granddaughter, Scarlet Gray Toppings of New Kent, Virginia, one brother, Bill (Jean) Oney of Circleville, Ohio, one sister, Ruth Oney Follmer of Pickerington, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband and special friend and companion, Sam Maynard, and one daughter, Monica Maynard Davis.

Ethel grew up in the Beaver Community during her school years and she had fond memories throughout her life of the time she spent in Beaver.

As per Ethel’s wishes, funeral services will not be held and calling hours will not be observed. Burial will take place in the Beaver Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Cox Burkitt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
