Emmarie (Rigsby) Arrowood

Emmarie Arrowood, age 88, of Waverly, Ohio, died Sunday July 5, 2026 at Traditions at Bristol Village in Waverly, Ohio. She was born October 10, 1937 in Kentucky, a daughter of the late Dewey Rigsby and Vennie Montgomery Rigsby. She was united in marriage in August 1,1960 to her husband, Dale Allen Arrowood, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Jeff (Jenny) Arrowood, Duane (Sylvia) Arrowood, Aleta Arrowood, and Joni McGrath, ten grandchildren, Carly Arrowood, Sara Arrowood, Amanda (Zach) Lubinski, Justin (Kayla) Arrowood, Chelsie Schultheis, Whitney Arrowood, Paige Foraker, Casey (Kaitlyn) Foraker, Sam Conacher, and Gwynn (Fiance` Cameron Royse) McGrath, thirteen great-grandchildren, Connor, Jaycee, Mason, Caden, Landon, Dorian, Jossalyn, Reagan, Nolan, Dylan, Ryden, Ronin and Emmarie, one great-great-grandson, Vinny, a host of nieces and nephews, and a dear friend who she thought of as a daughter, Dee Campanella. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Thelma Byrd, Eva Wilson, Joy Carter, and Darlene Carter, and five brothers, Delbert Rigsby, Raymond Rigsby, John Rigsby, Burt Rigsby, and Bill Rigsby.

Emmarie loved family gatherings and spending time playing cards with her grandchildren, her favorite game being Rummy. She had a wonderful sense of humor and found great joy in joking and laughter. She could often be found enjoying nature and watching the humming birds, or in the kitchen cooking and baking, as she was famous for her fried chicken.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday July 9, 2026 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Mountain Ridge Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
