Eleanor Jeanne Middleton
April 23, 1936 ~ June 30, 2025
Eleanor Jeanne Middleton, age 89, of Beaver, Ohio, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength and love. Born on April 23, 1936, in Lawrence County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Earnest and Letha Knipp Middleton. At the age of eight, Eleanor moved with her family to Dayton, Ohio, where she later graduated from Fairview High School with the class of 1954. In her adult life, she was employed with the Shillito-Rike’s Company where she worked in the accounting department for many years.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved parents and all of her siblings: Faye (Everett) Oliver, Ray (Ruby) Middleton, Donald Middleton, Ronald Middleton, Earl Middleton, and Cledieth Dale Middleton. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Carl Logan Knipp.
Though she never had children of her own, Eleanor cherished her role in the lives of those around her. She is survived by her self-proclaimed granddaughter, Payton Miller, and by Ali Miller, her devoted caregiver for many years. She is also lovingly remembered by special cousins Melissa and David Miller and Lee and Jesse Pennington, who helped care for her in meaningful ways, and by her nephew, Stewart Middleton, who was by her side in her final months. Many other nieces and nephews stayed close to her heart-calling, sending flowers, and offering their love and encouragement.
Eleanor gave her heart to the Lord in July of 2024 at the age of 88, a decision that brought her great peace. She was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals football, and nothing made her happier than spoiling the kids in her family.
Services will be held on Saturday July 5, 2025 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., with the funeral beginning at 1:00 P.M. A family dinner will follow at Bethel Ridge Fellowship Hall.
Eleanor will be remembered for her strong will, her loyalty to those closest to her, and her deep ties to family.
