Donna Sue Maynard, 73, of Beaver, went to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on July 10, 2021, after an unexpected illness.
Donna Sue Rhea was born on December 14, 1947 to Donald and Genevieve Rhea in Jackson, Ohio. After graduating from Eastern High School in 1965, she worked for Manpower in Jackson, Ohio. She later went on to Ohio University and earned her teaching certificate. She was a very beloved teacher for Eastern Local Schools until her retirement.
After years of courting, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Preston Maynard on October 23, 1966. They went on to have two girls, Jeni Rae and Erin Lynn.
Donna Sue enjoyed cooking, baking, flowers, and spending time surrounded by family. She was a member of Beaver Emmanuel United Methodist Church for nearly her entire life. She had a strong passion for serving her Lord and lived her life with a true servant’s heart. It was the most important thing to her, and it saw her through to the end.
Donna Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Maynard, her father, Donald Rhea, and her brother, Terry Rhea.
She is survived by her mother, Genevieve Rhea Fout, one brother, James (Betty) See of Louisa, KY, her two children, Jeni Rae (Darren) King, Erin Lynn (Brian) Phipps, three grandchildren, Quincy Lain King, Olivia Rhea Stephens, and Carter Dayne Stephens, numerous nieces and nephews, and beloved family friend, Gary Cantrell.
Services will be provided by Cox Burkitt Funeral Home at Beaver Emmanuel United Methodist Church on Tuesday July 13, 2021. Visitors may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., followed by a funeral. Graveside service will be at Beaver Union Cemetery. Donna was an extremely charitable woman. If preferred, a donation to a charity in her honor would please her immensely.
