Della Comer Obituary

Della Comer

February 23, 1943 ~ June 11, 2026

Della lived a life defined by unconditional love given freely and abundantly. Her unwavering faith in God was the very foundation that she built her life upon. She loved her family so deeply and treasured every moment she had with each of them. Nothing gave her more joy than a family gathering or an opportunity to spoil a grandchild. Della saw them as an extension of her, a belonging that had no limitations thus, she was the tree and her family all of her branches.

Friendships came easily to her because she had a genuine curiosity about people and an open heart that welcomed every story. She was blessed to have many meaningful and loyal friends in her lifetime.

Della was feisty, outspoken and never held back. She loved keeping her husband on his toes. While he rarely told her no, she rarely gave the chance to. She was known for her larger than life personality and was unapologetically glamorous. She had a signature fragrance, loved all things red and had an affinity for beautiful shoes and bling anywhere she could put it. Listening to music was a big part of who she was. She loved Classic Country, Old Time Gospel and Classical Music.

Her most treasured days were Sundays with her family, sharing a good meal spending precious time together.

Della was a matriarch who left behind a legacy of deep love and warm meaningful memories. There will be precious stories told in her honor for generations to come.

Della is survived by her children Teresa Maynard (Paul Brown), Chris Cline, Shirley Vona, David (Ruth) Cline, Lincoln (Lexi) Comer, Chris Comer, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Comer, her parents Leonard Sammons and Mila Blankenship Berry, and two sisters, Irene Swaim and Sharon Slatzer.
