Dean Knight

Dean Knight, age 77, of Swift Creek Rd., Beaver, Ohio, died Friday July 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1935 in Minnesota, a son of the late Lester Clell and Ester Elizabeth Knight. He was united in marriage July 6, 1955 to his wife, Ethel Maxine Blanton Knight, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Regina (Donald) Taylor, Rita (Terry) Baker, and Teresa (Danny) Montgomery, eight grandchildren, Rebecca McDowell, Donald Taylor Jr., Roger Knight, David Griffin, Sabrina Elgin, Micheal Griffin, Jennifer Slone, and Melissa Pettit, fourteen great-grandchildren, Uneika McDowell, Randy Knight, Lily May Griffin, Willym McDowell, Ryan Knight, Charles James, Autumn McDowell, Charles Morris, Mason James, Garrett James, Cody Griffin, Gracie Cooper, Serenity Taylor, and Makaylynn Taylor, and one brother, Herbert (Joyce) Knight. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Mr. Knight was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served during Vietnam and retiring with 21 years of service, was a member of the James Dickey American Legion Post #23 of Portsmouth, and was a member of the United Brethren Church of Minnesota. Funeral services will be 12 noon Tuesday July 17, 2012 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery with military graveside services provided by the American Legion Merritt Post #142 of Waverly. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
