David Bryan Young

David Bryan Young, age 66, of Waverly, Ohio, died Monday June 16, 2025 at his residence. He was born March 14, 1959 in Greenfield, Ohio, a son of the late Charles Young and Mary Jean Finley Young. He was united in marriage July 23, 2015 to his wife, Janet Bliss Young, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Mary Beth (Brad E.) Sonner of Hillsboro, Ohio, Robert (Reba) Young of Wilmington, Ohio, and James (Sarah) Young of Kettering, Ohio, a grandson who he raised as a son, Kieran Young of Kettering, Ohio, one step-son, Joshua Smith of Waverly, Ohio, his grandchildren, Destiny Sonner, Gatlynn Sonner, Avrynne Sonner, David Young, Audrey Young, Kesliegh Young, Charli Young, Jasper Young, Madison Smith, Christian Smith, Lynkon Barrett, and Colt Barrett, one sister, Cheryl (Dennis) Collins of Hillsboro, Ohio, one brother, Dennis Young of Hillsboro, Ohio, and a daughter-in-law, Anna Young of Martinsville, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Phil Smith and a granddaughter, Brookelyn Young.

David was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during Operation Desert Storm working as a diesel mechanic. He was proud to be a part of the Armed Forces and loved America. He was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa, and was notorious for being a jokester.

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday June 21, 2025 at the Southside Praise and Worship Center located at 621 S. East St., Hillsboro, Ohio, with Pastor Mike Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Hillsboro. Visiting hours will be held from 6-8:00 P.M. Friday June 20, 2025 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio and from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
