Danny Lee Schrader

Danny Lee Schrader, age 74, of Beaver, Ohio, passed away August 9, 2013 at the O.S.U. Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born February 27, 1939 in Beaver, Ohio. Danny is survived by his wife, Ellarose Schrader, whom he married October 12, 1962, and his beloved daughter, Susan Cory Schrader, both of Beaver. Danny was a well known figure of Pike County. He was a retired teacher and coach from Beaver Elementary School. He will be remembered lovingly by many past students and co-workers for his wonderful sense of humor and his kindness to all. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and was also Quartermaster at the Beaver V.F.W. Post, and was very active in many community activities, always ready to cook a famous "Danny's spaghetti dinner" for many groups and organizations. Danny was preceded in death by his mother Roberta and step-father, Robert Rider, his adoptive parents Alvin and Eliza Schrader, Brothers James "Cavis" Schrader, sister Mary Bobst, infant brother Homer Schrader and sister Carolyn Sue Schrader, and great-nephew, Steven Schrader. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by brothers Alvin "George" Schrader and wife Geneva, Lewis Schrader and wife Nancy, Wayne Schrader and wife Tommie, Melvin Schrader and wife Barbara, all of Beaver, and Paul Schrader and wife Joann of South Webster, Ohio. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Larry (Nancy) Allen, John (Angie) Allen and sister-in-law Melanie Allen and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday August 16, 2013 at the Eastern Local High School Gymnasium. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Merritt Post # 142 of Waverly. Visitation for family and friends will be from 3-8:00 P.M. on Thursday August 15, 2013 at the High School gymnasium. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio.
