Dallas Leonard "Doc" Knisley
August 19, 1945 - January 1, 2024
A golden heart stopped beating January 1, 2024. Dallas passed away peacefully at Adena Med. Center in Chillicothe, OH. Doc was born in the hills of Pike County, OH on Turner Ridge Rd. on Aug. 19, 1945 to the late Dallas W, Knisley and Delcie V. (Cox) Knisley. Dallas was a veteran who served proudly from 1964-1967 as Private 1st Class, SPEC4. Dallas had the kindest heart, was a hard-working man, loved spending time with his family, mushroom hunting, and he was the best Papaw in the world!
Surviving are his wife Earlene (Short) Knisley and his 3 children, Melissa (Knisley) Mike Lowman, Bryan Knisley, Tony Tammy Penwell, sister Lynda Hopkins, brother Harry Knisley, several nieces and nephews, his grandchildren, Stephanie Keesee,, Steven Lowman, the Knisley boys (Bryan Keith), Bradley, Jerimah, Daniel, Bengimen Knisley), (Anthoney, Chris, Katelynn Penwell), great grandkids, (Allsion, Jonny, Carlie, and Ava), (Hunter, Paiton,and Domenic), (Kadin, Zander, Rider, Ryker), Kaylynn, Connor. In addition to his parents, Doc was preceded in death by 3 of his grandchildren, Mykaila and Michael Lowman and Isaac Leonard Knisley, and his brothers Roger, Gary, Anthony, and Randy Knisley.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday January 11, 2024 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Mike Whitley officiating. Burial will follow in the Lapperell Cemetery with military graveside services provided by the American Legion Merritt Post #142 of Waverly, Ohio. Visiting hours will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
