Clara Calhoun

  Clara Calhoun, age 90, of Jackson, Ohio, died Tuesday January 9, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 28, 1927 in Bonnyman, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James and Abbie Crawford Spencer. She was united in marriage October 9, 1948 to her husband, William "Bill" Calhoun, who preceded her in death January 28, 2015. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Mary (Donald) Calhoun Morris of Chillicothe, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Minerva Eberst of Grove City, Ohio. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Calhoun and her siblings, Sherman (Cappie) Spencer, Ulyss (Martha) Spencer, Ira Spencer, Henry Spencer, Lillian Gallatin, Cora Keaton, Martha Ann Rowe, Elizabeth Colwell, Rosalee Fugitt and Leana Collins. Mrs. Calhoun was a member of the Beaver Valley United Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday January 12, 2018 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Bro. Arvil Murray and Bro. Jeff Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hanna Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
