Cheryl L.ynn Davis

Cheryl Lynn Davis, 47, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away on Monday September 27, 2021 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born on February 14, 1974 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Troy Moore Jr. of Galion, Ohio and Judith Gullett Cable of Beaver, Ohio, both of whom survive. Cheryl is also survived by her husband of nearly 29 years, Jeffrey Wayne Davis, whom she married on October 31, 1992, her daughter, Erin Paige (Colton) Brammer of Minford, Ohio, and her two grandchildren, Marshall Brammer and Kennedy Brammer. She also leaves behind her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Rosa Davis of Beaver, Ohio, two sisters, Teryl (Brent) Causey of Waverly, Ohio and Kellie Rose of Beaver, Ohio, a brother-in-law, Kevin (Leslie) Davis of Athens, Ohio, her husband’s grandmother, Goldie Vance of Beaver, Ohio, as well as a multitude of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bruce and Mabel Gullett.

Cheryl was baptized in 1995 and remained an active and faithful Christian until her passing. She was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ in Hamden, Ohio.

She graduated from Piketon High School in 1992 and from Shawnee State University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. At the time of her passing, Cheryl was in her 24th school year as a teacher at Eastern Elementary in Beaver, Ohio. She had a great love for children and a passion to teach. During her teaching career, she was able to touch the lives of hundreds of children and their parents within the Eastern Local School District.

Cheryl loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing both in the Smoky Mountain area and in the Northern Ohio Amish country, reading and collecting books and antique shopping.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 2, 2021 at the Eastern High School gymnasium in Beaver, Ohio with Patrick L. Gampp officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held from 5-8:00 P.M. Friday October 1, 2021 at the Eastern High School. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cheryl L. Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Atomic Credit Union location.
