Cheryl Darlene Bapst, age 67, of Beaver, Ohio, died Thursday December 18, 2014 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born July 13, 1947 in Beaver, Ohio in the family home, where she continued to reside throughout her life. She was a daughter of the late Leroy and Edith Swain Bapst. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Maxie Bapst. Surviving are one sister, Trish (Roger) Wiseman of Beaver, Ohio, one sister-in-law, Dorothy Bapst of Beaver, Ohio, six nieces and nephews, Kim Wiseman, Ann McCaleb, Kevin Bapst, Brett Bapst, Jan Nolan and Heather Miller, a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, and numerous family and friends. Cheryl graduated from Eastern High School in 1965, where she was a drum majorette and 1965 Homecoming Queen. She was 1
st runner up in the Pike County Sesquicentennial Queen's Court, was a member of the Beaver Emmanuel United Methodist Church, was instrumental in forming the first Beaver Oktoberfest, and was a self-employed cosmetologist for 31 years. Cheryl was a lover of animals and had many pets in which she considered to be her children. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday December 22, 2014 at the Beaver Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Beaver, Ohio with Pastor Rodney Bapst officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8:00 P.M. Sunday December 21, 2014 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio.
