Charles E. "sonny" Christman

Charles E. "Sonny" Christman, age 67, of Beaver, Ohio, died Monday September 30, 2013 at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born November 4, 1945 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Charles Robert and Anna Carroll Wolery Christman. Mr. Christman was united in marriage March 2, 1974 to his wife, Terri Ann Kamer Christman, who survives. Also surviving are his three children, Angela (Matt) Mantell of Medina, Ohio, Robert Andrew (Kari) Christman of McDermott, Ohio and Amy Renee (Erik) Mullins of Jackson, Ohio, five grandchildren, Landen, Kendyl, Tyler, Anna, and Owen, one sister, Sandy (Roger) Scott of Dayton, Ohio and his mother-in-law, Doris Kamer of New Boston, Ohio. Mr. Christman was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served during Vietnam. He earned his Associate Degree from Shawnee State University, was employed at Martin Marietta for 23 years, was a member of the Sons of Liberty re-enactment group of Jackson, Ohio, a member of the Posey Ridge Boys Motorcycle Club, and loved spending his spare time woodworking. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday October 4, 2013 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Pastor Jerry Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Merritt Post #142 of Waverly. Friends may call from 5-8:00 P.M. Thursday October 3, 2013 at the funeral home and from 12 noon until the time of service on Friday.
