Billie Jean (Sellards) Pennington

Billie Jean Pennington, age 93, of Beaver, Ohio, died Friday June 6, 2025 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born October 18, 1931 in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Floyd W. Sellards and Ella Jayne Sellards. Surviving are two children by her former husband William Jess Pennington, Connie Bobst of Beaver, Ohio and Stuart (Dedra) Pennington of Wellston, Ohio, nine grandchildren, Todd Bobst, Michael (Lana) Bobst, Chris (Victoria) Pennington, Colin (Emily) Pennington, Corey (Shannon) Pennington, Stacey Pennington, Shane (Missy Smith) Pennington, Skyla (Paul) Underwood, and Donnie Bailey, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Anna G. Pennington of Chillicothe, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Tom Pennington, one daughter, Claudia Jean Burton, one grandson, Jeff Bobst, one granddaughter, Jessica Fremder, four sisters, Emma Skeens Rotondi, Maggie Higgins, Ora Bowling, and Cora Christman, one brother, Raleigh Sellards, and a son-in-law, Robert Bobst.

Billie worked as a teacher’s aide at the Beaver Elementary School for a number of years and went on to retire from the Pike County Hospital where she worked in admissions.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 10, 2025 in the Beaver Union Cemetery with Pastor Brian Hedden officiating. Burial will follow at the conclusion of services. Visiting hours will not be observed. Cox Burkitt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
