Betty Josephine Howard (Caudill) passed away unexpectedly at her home in Centerville, OH on December 6, 2017. Betty was born to Hannah and Flora (Penix) Caudill on May 26, 1932 in Salyersville, KY. She moved to southeastern Ohio as a child where she met Richmond Howard, who she married on June 1, 1950. They had 2 boys, Glenn Richard and Franklin Dudley. Betty worked for the Eastern School district until she retired in 1997. She and Richmond were avid Eastern sports fans until they moved to Centerville, to be closer to family, in 2007. They continued their love of sports by supporting the University of Dayton Men's Basketball team. Even after Richmond's passing in 2010, Betty continued to attend as many games as possible with her sister-in-law and brother-in-law and loving friends Juanita and Paul Conley. She was never known to miss a game. Not only did she love sports she was an avid gardener and canner, sometimes canning upwards of 100 quarts of green beans a year. She was a loving and active mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her son, Franklin (Pam) Howard, granddaughters Ryan (Mike) Leesman, Sara (Alex) Moore, great-grandchildren Teagan, Quinn, and Corinne Moore and Cameron and Delaney Leesman. Some of her greatest joys were spending time with her great grandchildren; watching them play sports and having them over to play at "granny's"
