Obituary

Barbara Ellen “Bobbie” Osborn, age 87, of Waverly, Ohio, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home on Tuesday September 20, 2022. She was born September 12, 1935 in Ross County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Floyd Davis and Blanche Shoemaker Davis. She was united in marriage August 15, 1953 to her husband, Clyde Osborn, who preceded her in death February 28, 2002. Surviving are three daughters, Claudia (Carl) Bloomfield of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Deborah (Mike) Thompson of Bidwell, Ohio, and Mary Lou (Terry) Mooney of Middletown, Ohio, five grandchildren, Amanda (Leroy) Myers of Kinston, Ohio, Joni (Thomas) Weaver of Stockdale, Ohio, Gretchen (Thomas) Magoto of DeGraff, Ohio, Austin (Hannah) Mooney of Middletown, Ohio and Casey Mooney of Middletown, Ohio, two step-grandchildren, Carie (Chod) Johnson of Circleville, Ohio and Adam Thompson of Columbus, Ohio, seven great-grandchildren, Hailee, T.J., and Hanna Weaver, Sierra Wolfe, Genevieve Magoto, Owen Mooney, and William Mooney, one step-great-granddaughter, Reagan Johnson, and one brother, Stephen Davis of Chillicothe, Ohio. Bobbie had numerous nieces and nephews and a host of very special friends, including a dear friend Dennis Dunn of Waverly, Ohio.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley Davis, Sherman Davis, Joseph Henry Davis, and Donald Davis (infant), and seven sisters, Frances Schilling, Margaret Miller, Betty Richardson, Mary Ann Woods, Mildred Reinsmith, Virginia Osborn, and Bess Rose.

Bobbie came from a large family and being one of the youngest of 12 siblings, and losing her mother at a young age, she learned how to be resilient and dedicated to family.  She worked many years at Pike County Community Action and retired from there.  She enjoyed helping others and had a love for her community and the people in it.  She was a former Girl Scout Leader, 4-H advisor and she enjoyed travel, sewing, quilting and being outdoors.  She enjoyed her last few years living in Bristol Village Retirement Community where she enjoyed the beautiful community, people, activities and attending church.  Above all, she enjoyed spending time with family which was most important to her.  Bobbie was determined, independent, kind and loving.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday September 24, 2022 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Pastors Ronnie Hines and Jeff Brewster officiating.
